Say hello to Rusty’s Retreat – our beautiful 6m bell tent at Rusty Meadow that gives you all the fun of camping, without the faff. If you love the idea of escaping into nature but don’t fancy packing up the car with everything but the kitchen sink, this is your shortcut to a stress-free countryside break. Just bring yourselves, drop your bags, and settle straight into meadow life.
We’ve given our pop-up campsite a little glow-up, and Rusty’s Retreat is the star of the show. Styled for comfort but still rustic at heart, this fully equipped bell tent is perfect for couples looking for a romantic escape, friends wanting a peaceful switch-off, or anyone who simply fancies a weekend under the stars without wrestling with tent poles.
Inside you’ll find a proper superking-size bed (no airbeds here!), snuggly armchairs, soft rugs, and twinkly fairy lights that make evenings cosy and inviting. With bedside lamps, extra blankets, and thoughtful touches, it’s all about comfort without losing the charm of a true camping experience. Tea and coffee making facilities and a few other touches can be found to make your stay that little bit more special! (Check out the video below!)
Step outside and the magic continues – a private picnic bench, your very own firepit (complete with free firewood for marshmallow toasting), and private allocated space just for you to relax in, and as you watch the sunset, enjoy the twinkling of the fairy lights too!
As with all of Rusty Meadow’s eco-friendly campsite, you’ll have access to our composting loos, rustic washing-up station, and handy USB charging hut for your small devices. While we don’t have showers on site, guests tell us the simplicity is part of the charm – you’ll be too busy soaking up sunsets, breathing in meadow air, and gazing at star-filled skies with zero light pollution to mind.
Rusty’s Retreat is designed as an adults-only escape for two, making it a rare chance to really slow down and reconnect. Dogs are very welcome elsewhere on the campsite, but our bell tent is a pup-free zone. For 2025 we have one gorgeous bell tent available with another to come in 2026! So to celebrate our first gorgeous retreat space you can garb a stay in at Rusty's Retreat for just £70 per night (minimum 2 nights), availability is limited – so don’t wait too long to book your stay.

Whether you want to chill and relax, go for a lovely walk, explore the island or just walk down to Godshill Village, Rusty's Retreat is perfectly located for you to do it all!
Just a short stroll from our meadow is the village of Godshill with it's quaint shops, pubs and tea gardens along with the famous Model Village and other fun things to explore!
Just one minute from our gate you will be straight onto bridle ways and footpaths that can take you on some gorgeous walks. Our favourite is up to the Worsley Monument where you can (on a clear day!) see the full east to west of the island.
