About Us

We’re Rusty Rails Farm CIC, a small, family run, community led project based in Godshill on the Isle of Wight. There is no farmhouse here, just good land that has been in our family for over 25 years, open skies, and a lot of wildlife.

The land has long been home to horses and sheep, with buzzards overhead, badgers and foxes passing through, plenty of rabbits, and of course some very busy bees. Nature has always been the star of the show.

Rusty Rails Farm is run by The Phenix Family that's Nikki, Ian, Laanii, and Raif, along with our friend Chris. As a family, we chose to spend several years travelling full time around the UK and Europe in our caravan, staying on more campsites than we can count. That experience shaped exactly what we wanted to create back home. A place that feels relaxed, welcoming, and refreshingly low key.

Nikki is also the author of Wanderlust Calling, a practical guide to family travel and worldschooling, and the same honest, no pressure approach runs through everything we do.

We now use the land to create low impact, outdoor experiences through projects like Rusty Meadow Pop Up Campsite and Rusty Hollow wildflower meadow.

We are proudly a Community Interest Company, which means everything we earn is reinvested into the land and into creating inclusive opportunities for families, schools, and community groups.

Fuss free camping, marshmallows and a glass of wine around the campfire is our idea of heaven!
